Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Morris

Elizabeth Ann Morris, 60, of Galesburg, passed away at home on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 12:05 PM.Ann was born on June 1, 1956 in Long Beach, CA.

She was the daughter of Joe and Beverly Jean (Swanson) Hays. She married her husband, Stephen Morris on September 19, 1981 in Galesburg, he survives. Also surviving is their loving daughter, Jessica Morris, of Gig Harbor, WA; one brother, David Hays of Galesburg; three sisters, Cherie Colclasure of Galesburg, Patty Dailey of Lacey, WA, and Lynne (Jeff) Cunningham of Olympia, WA; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Dianne Mayes.  

Ann loved to travel, dance, sing, go to Karaoke, and enjoy music. She enjoyed collecting angels, each one meaning something special to her. Ann had a soft heart when it came to animals, and enjoyed working and volunteering at the Knox County Humane Society. She had an infectious smile, and a kind, generous heart. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her favorite angel, Jessica.  

Per Ann's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 4-7 PM at Cherry Street Restaurant and Bar, located at 57 South Cherry Street, Galesburg, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials in Ann's honor may be given to the Knox County Humane Society, 1855 Windish Drive, Galesburg Illinois, 61401. Expressions of sympathy may be left to the family at
