Dorothy J. Shea

Dorothy Joan Shea, 76, of 280 E. Losey St., Galesburg, formerly of 559 N. Cherry St., Galesburg, died at 7:05 a.m. on Friday, October 03, 2008 at Heartland Health Care.  Dorothy was born on December 31, 1931 in England, the daughter of LaVerne and Bertha Radcliff Graves.  She married Pat Shea on August 25, 1951 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on December 10, 1980.  Surviving Dorothy are 2 sons, John (Pam Kepple) Shea of Abingdon and Gary Shea of Shelbyville; and 3 daughters, Annette (Kevin) Kennelly of Knoxville, Cindy (Bob) Emmett of Loxahatchee, FL, and Stephanie (Paul) Schaeffer of Fairport, NY.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Scott, Aaron, Jordan, Brandon, Kristen, Hailey, Matthew, and Nicholas; and 2 great grandchildren, Grace and Cian.  Dorothy was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.  She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society.  Dorothy was a realtor and business owner in Galesburg for many years.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family.  Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2008 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 4 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
