Alan Lee Spicer, 50, of Independence, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Al was born on July 17, 1958 in Evergreen Park, IL, the son of Leland & Geraldine (McCoy) Spicer. He grew up in Country Club Hills, IL and lived all of his adult life in the Blue Springs and Independence areas. He owned and operated Spicer Floor Covering in Independence. His survivors include his mother: Geraldine Spicer of Monmouth, IL; his companion: Tammara Devine; two brothers: Rod Spicer of Bates City, MO and Ray Spicer of DeKalb, IL; and one sister: Julie Spicer of St. Paul, MN. Al was preceded in death by his father, Leland Spicer, in 2003. Al leaves behind many wonderful friends, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and family members who will miss him dearly. Services:A graveside interment of ashes was conducted by Reverend William C. Meyers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009, at Monmouth Cemetery.
