Alice L. Brakeville

Alice L. Brakeville, age 83, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 3:10 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her residence. She was born on September 9, 1931 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Henry W. and Katheryn Mae (Watson) Adams. She was raised on the Adams family farm and attended the Ralston rural school and Monmouth High School. On December 11, 1948, Alice married Trueman L. Brakeville, Jr. in Monmouth. He preceded her in death in January 16, 1992. Alice was a representative for Avon Cosmetics for many years in the local area. She was most of all a homemaker and grandma to her family and friends. She loved to shoot and go fishing, road trips with her grandson, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Surviving Alice is one daughter, Cindy Brakeville of Monmouth, IL, on son, Jim (LuAnn) Brakeville of Little York, Illinois, two grandsons, Jim (Stephanie) Brakeville of Monmouth and Donald "Norm" (Christy) Brakeville of Little York. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister. Services:A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Her family will receive friends from 11:00-1:30 prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or OSF Hospice in Galesburg.
