Alvin L. "Al " Tee, age 81, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his Oquawka residence. Alvin was born on July 26, 1934 in Oquawka, Illinois and is the son of Elmer Alvin and Belva Irene Ashby Tee. He attended local schools and graduated from G & O High School with the class of 1952. Al entered and served in the United States Army where he attended Heavy Equipment Training in Japan. He then was in Korea where he was part of a Tank company. He lastly was an Equipment Operator in Texas for a time. After service to his country he returned and was married to Rebecca K. Stubbs on March 16, 1958 in Oquawka, Illinois, and she is surviving. Alvin began work with his father at Tee's Station in Oquawka, Illinois. He then was employed and became foreman of the loading dock at Chittendon and Eastman in Burlington, Iowa. Later Al worked as a laborer in construction for Charley Powell Construction and then Shipley Construction, both in Burlington, Iowa. He retired in July 1996. Alvin was a member of the International Labor Union 538 in Galesburg, Illinois. Al loved gardening and caring for his Purple Martin colony at his home. He enjoyed race car driving, hunting, and fishing. He attended Faith Bible Church in Oquawka, Illinois and most all enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Tee of Oquawka, Illinois, and one daughter, Debra (Steve) Eckley, and two sons, Bryan C. (Becky) Tee and Steven Tee, both of Oquawka, Illinois. There are two grandsons, Tony Wright and Dylan Tee surviving. Two sisters survive, Iona LaVeine of Burlington, Iowa and Karen (John) Parkins of Oquawka, Illinois. There are two brothers, Allen (Lois) Tee and Ronald "Red" Tee both of Oquawka, Illinois. Al is preceded in his death by his parents and one sister. Visitation His family plans a visitation and will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the memorial service. Memorial Service A memorial service is planned at 10:30 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Cremation is being accorded. Fellowship is to follow at Faith Bible Church in Oquawka. A memorial fund is being established for Faith Bible Church.
