Andrew Y. Butler

Andrew Y. Butler, age 53, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at OSF St.Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois on July 9, 2011 at 1:50 pm. "Andy" was born on May 21, 1958 in Mahopac, New York. He was raised in Carmel, New York until coming to Monmouth where he received his education in the Monmouth Schools and Monmouth High School. He was previously married to Carolyn A. Brooks. Andrew was first employed at Western Stoneware in Monmouth for a number of years. He then began work at Illinois Pork Corp., and later for Mariah Foods, and then Farmland as a meat cutter. He then worked four years at Publix Grocery, also as a meatcutter. His last employment was working for Lon Simpson and Simpson Cleaning here in Monmouth, Illinois. He is survived by two daughters Chetta (Jesus) Gonzalez of Monmouth, Illinois and Chrystal (Alex) Organista of Galesburg, Illinois, and his significant other Cindy Johnson of Monmouth, Illinois and three grandchildren Brianna, Crystina, and Adrionna. There are two brothers Charles (Kathy) Butler of Monmouth, Illinois and John Butler of Carmel, New York. He is preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Kiersten and one sister Dee. Services:A funeral service will be at 8:00 pm on Thursday evening at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation will be accorded following the service. His family plans to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm prior to the service on Thursday evening. Memorial may be left for the family.
