Angela R. Mendez

Angela Ramona Mendez, 69, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 4:52 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

She was born December 26, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Ross Cauffman and Helen Jean Upton (Cauffman).

Angela married Thomas Raymond Mendez on February 28, 1976, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Angela worked as a DSP for DD Homes in Galesburg for several years.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Mendez of Galesburg; one granddaughter, Abbey Mendez; and two great-grandchildren, Ezra Bell and Zella Bell.

She was preceded in death by father, Charles; her mother, Helen Mathis; her son, Tobby Mendez, on February 14, 2014; and her siblings, Wayne Cartee, Arthur "Grover" Cartee, Maurice "Mo" Cartee, and Ellen "Charline" Parrigan.
