Anna Pauline Kinkaid

Pauline Kinkaid, age 82, of Oquawka, passed away at 8:15 p.m., Thursday, April 8 2010, at the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst. She was born on August 12, 1927 in Oquawka, Illinois and was the daughter of Paul and Virgie Smith Meyer. Pauline was raised in Henderson County where she attended rural schools and graduated in 1945 from the Biggsville High School. She was married to Lindel Kinkaid on March 5, 1946 in Biggsville, Illinois. Pauline served fourteen years as a Nurse's Aid at Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth. She also trained in Chicago, Illinois as a Vista volunteer and served state side in the Peace Corps. Before retirement Pauline was in charge of the literacy program of the Pass Adult Education program in Henderson County. She was of the protestant faith, was a member of Home Extension, the Rebekah Lodge #360, and a member of the Parkinson Support Group in Burlington, Iowa. Pauline and Lindel foster parented numerous Monmouth College foreign students in prior years. Surviving her is her husband, Lindel Kinkaid of Oquawka, IL; three daughters Linda (Tom) Clapp of Wellington, FL., Sally (John) Adair of Oquawka, IL., and Susan (Pat) McKeown of Oquawka, IL, and her son Lee (Sheila) Kinkaid of Bremen, GA. There are nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren surviving. Her brother Max (Maude) Meyer of Oquawka, IL also survives. There are numerous nieces and nephews surviving. Services:A graveside service for Anna Pauline Kinkaid is planned on Tuesday April 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm the Rozetta Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday and Tuesday at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. No hours for visitation have been announced by her family. Interment will be in the Rozetta Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund in being established for the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab center in Stronghurst, Illinois.
