Arline V. Munson, age 74, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 1:14 pm on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at OSF St.Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Arline was born December 22, 1939 in the rural Smithshire area and is the daughter of Roy E. "Dutch" and Lily A. Wingfield Dixon. The family moved to Aurora, Illinois when Arline was a girl and she attended local schools and the East Aurora High School. She later was previously married to Floyd R. Munson. Arline began work at Helen's Restaurant in Aurora where she loved to wait tables and be a waitress. She did this for a number of years. Upon her return to the area she worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, IA for a time. She then was employed twenty-two years by Maytag in Galesburg, IL in Final Inspection and Repair, from which she retired. Arline loved to go to Flea Markets with her good friend Jerry Henry and loved to go play Bingo. She enjoyed handwork and crocheting and made Afghans and Baby Blankets for many of her friends and family. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears Fan and never missed the Little League World Series. She always watched horse and harness racing, and loved to cook. She is known for her stuffed cabbage, hot ham salad, and her banana cream pie. Most of all she adored her Grandchildren and family. Surviving her is her daughter, Suzan (Kevin) Tisdale of North Pekin, IL; two sons, Daniel Munson of Harrington, DE. and David (Christi) Munson of Monmouth, IL. There are six grandchildren, Emilee Bowling, Debra Bowling McKee, Michael Bowling, Kellie Munson, Clayton Vestal, and Hannah Vestal. there are two great grandchildren, Carter Bowling and Pheonix Miller. There is one sister, Tamra (Douglas) Dixon Rankin of Monmouth, IL and one brother, Mike (Leona) Dixon of rural Galesburg, IL. Services:A gathering of her family and friends is planned at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois on Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial fund is being established by her family and may be left at the funeral home.
