Arthur G. Cartee

Arthur Grover Cartee, 71, of Galesburg, passed away at 8:35 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home. He was born December 18, 1950 in Alabama, the son of Aubrey and Helen (Upton) Cartee. Art worked as a doorman and security guard at a well-known and high-rise condominium complex in Chicago for 30 years before moving to Galesburg. He was of the Catholic faith. Art married Audra Neprackaite in Chicago in 2000. She survives of Galesburg. Also surviving is his daughter, Nichole (Ian) Uchiek of Schaumburg, Illinois; his son, Aaron (Melissa) Cartee; and four grandchildren: Zachary Uchiek, Ryan Uchiek, Maya Cartee, and Lauryn Cartee. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Charlene (Ellen); and a brother, Maurice. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for the family. Memorials contributions may be made to the family.
