Benjamin Rollo Bruner, age 74, of Oquawka, passed away at 9:35 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill. He was born on December 2, 1935 in Woodhull, Ill., the son of Ben E.and Ione Frost Bruner. Benjamin was reared and educated in Woodhull, and graduated from Rova High School. He married Patty Turner Algren on August 4, 1978 in Oquawka, Ill., she survives. Benjamin worked his whole life as a self employed contractor. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and social gatherings with his family and friends. He was a member of the Oquawka Masonic Lodge AF & AM #123, and the Carpenter's Local Union 183. Surviving Benjamin is his wife Patty Bruner of Oquawka, Ill., children; Steve Bruner (Joann) of Clearwater, Fl., Pam Bruner of Port Charlotte, Fl., Tim Bruner (Debbie) of Bentonville, Ar., Cindy Cyrway of Woodlands, Tx., Barry Algren (Denise) of Sherrard, Ill., and Perry Algren (Dina) of Helena, Al. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sisters; Barb Plapp (Bud) of Lynn Center, Ill., Nancy Rhodenbaugh (Larry) of Sherrard, Ill., and Kathy Robinson (Harvey) of Orion, Ill. and one brother Doyne Bruner (Darlene) of Colorado Springs, Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Jeanette Tollerud and Beverly Bruner. Services:Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of Benjamin's life will be from 2:00 to 7:00p.m., Sunday, October 24th at the Eagles Club in Oquawka. A memorial fund has been established for the Oquawka Fire and Ambulance.
