Betty J. Franklin, age 62, of Sandwich, Illinois and formerly of Monmouth; passed away at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, on February 21, 2009. Betty was born on June 9, 1946 in Monmouth, Illinois. She is the daughter of William O. and Theresa O. Stevens Hayes and was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and graduated from High School. She was married to Robert L. Franklin. After her schooling, Betty was employed at Countryside Healthcare Center in Aurora, Illinois until 1995 when she retired. Betty is survived by three daughters Melissa D. Neill (Anthony) of Montgomery, IL and Theresa J. Barks of Montgomery, Illinois and Stephanie A. Franklin of Mendota, IL Grandchildren survive Ashley Mueller, Taylor Neill, Devin Smith, Destiny Smith, and Christina Barks. Sisters are Linda Macklan (Dennis) and Marylou Vervinck (Charles) of Monmouth, Illinois. Brother Lawrence Hayes (Lorretta) of Galesburg, IL She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and her Sister Anna Greenlief. Services:Cremation has been accorded in Sycamore, Illinois and a memorial service is planned on Saturday March 7, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. No visitation hours or memorial funds have been designated.
