Betty A. Reynolds

Betty A. Reynolds, age 95, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 10:55 A.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on March 16, 1923 in Illinois City, Illinois, the daughter of Orvie Phillip and Minnie Isabelle (Smith) Fuller. She attended Illinois City Rural School. Betty was married to Ivan Spitznogle and later to Lyle Reynolds. She began work as a cook in Rock Island and Milan. Betty later worked as a bartender, semi-driver, homemaker, and caregiver. Betty enjoyed birds, gardening, crocheting, sewing, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Mostly, she loved being with her family. Betty is survived by three daughters; Joan Wetzel of Muscatine, IA, Kandy Pepper of Milan, IL, and Sherry Ann Groyon (Mike) of Ft. Richey, FL, one son, Randy (Mamie) Reynolds of Monmouth, IL, twelve grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters; Minnie Tarbell of Corydon, IA and Phyllis Snyder of Illinois City, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. A graveside funeral service is planned for 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Eliza Creek Cemetery in Eliza Township. No visitation is planned. A memorial fund is being established for The Wounded Warriors Project.
