Betty J. Sage

Betty J. Sage, age 75, of Monmouth, passed away at 4:51 a.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Betty was born on February 26, 1937 in Monmouth and is the daughter of Eddie L. and Mallie Buckingham Denison. She was reared and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth Public Schools. Betty first worked at the Formfit in Monmouth, and she later worked for 26 years at the Monmouth Hospital where she developed many lifelong, enduring friendships. She is survived by her children Mark (Becky) Sage of Rantoul IL, Terri Sage (Jim Plackett) of Monmouth IL, and David Sage of Bronxville NY. Also surviving is one sister Elaine Mason of Monmouth IL and three sisters-in-laws, Carolyn (James) Denison of Fort Madison IA, Mary (Charles) Denison of Monmouth IL, and Nellie (Donald) Denison of Kirkwood IL, three grandchildren Carl Sage (Mary) of Monmouth, Amber (Steve) Garcia of Loda, IL and Elizabeth (Brian Lee) Johnson of Rantoul, Il. Great grandchildren include Tyler, RaeAnn & Devon Garcia, Marcus & Makyla Lee. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Mallie Denison, two sisters Louise Garrett and Barbara Turner, as well as five brothers William, Charles, Robert, Donald and James Denison. Services:Cremation has been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the home of the family at 309 North 1st Street in Monmouth, all are welcome to attend. A memorial fund has been established for the OSF Holy Family Medical Center or the Arthritis Foundation.
