Betty C. Scott, age 74, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away on October 14, 2008 at the Roseville Country Manor. Betty was born on November 29, 1933 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Gerald S. and Alice E. Arendt Kelley. Betty was raised in Monmouth, where she attended the Monmouth Schools and Monmouth High School. She married Howard V. Scott on August 18, 1950 in Monmouth, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1998. Betty's main interest was always her family, children and grandchildren and all their activities. After her children were grown, she worked for a time at Cottage Corner in Monmouth. She is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and attended church at First United Methodist Church in Monmouth. She also enjoyed painting and working in ceramics. Betty was a full blooded bingo player and enjoyed knitting, board games and playing cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed doing word searches. She is survived by three daughters Nancy Rampy of Washington, Illinois; Vickie Hode and Jack of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and Alice Wagner and Danny of Tarentum, Pennsylvania. Two Sons survive J.B. Scott and Bev of Council Bluff, Iowa and Howard "Bo" Scott, Jr. and Donna of Monmouth, Illinois. Eight Grandchildren Michael Rampy, Jessica Snow, Shawn and Carissa Scott, Megan and Mark Hode, and Alex and Scott Wagner. Five Great Grandchildren also survive Shaunna and Magdeline Scott, and Brighton, Cal, and Delia Snow. Three Sisters survive Shirley McVey and Donna Reyburn, both of Monmouth and Peg Redding of Marquette Heights, Illinois. One brother surviving Phil Kelley of Monmouth, Illinois. Betty is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Three brothers, One Sister, Two Granddaughters, and One Great Granddaughter. Services:A funeral service for Betty will be on Friday October 17, 2008 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois at 3:00 pm. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. Her family plans to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Friday afternoon from 1:00 - 3:00 pm prior to the funeral service. A memorial fund is established for Roseville Country Manor.
