Beulah J. Berge

Beulah J. Berg, age 84, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 8:08 am at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois on Friday, February 12, 2016. Beulah was born on February 10, 1932 in Kirkwood, Illinois and is the daughter of Ernest M. and Rose Elliott Hardy. She was reared and educated in Kirkwood and Monmouth and attended local schools. She graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1950. She was married to Ronald R. "Pete" Berge on November 8, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in his death on February 2, 1977. Beulah began work for Clark Campbell and the Monmouth Grain and Dryer here in Monmouth, Illinois. She then worked with Cecil and Jim Lovdahl also of the Grain and Dryer here in Monmouth from which she retired having worked more than fifty years. Beulah loved her dogs and currently had her "Patches" as a pet. She led a private sort of life and enjoyed her home and her flower garden. Surviving are her nieces, Rose Linze of Monmouth, Illinois; Debbie Sherwood of Monmouth, Illinois; Beulah Sherwood of Galesburg, Illinois and Penny (Craig) Murphy of Monmouth, Illinois. One nephew survives, Roy Lee Fredrickson believed to be in the Galesburg area. Two great nieces, Shelby Linze of Monmouth, Illinois and Jennifer Sherwood in Texas and a great nephew, Matthew Sherwood of Canton, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one nephew, Guy, three sisters, and one brother. Visitation Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday until the hour of the service. Funeral Service A funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue.
