Beulah B. McDonald, age 92, of LaSalle, Michigan, formerly of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 8:44 a.m. of Friday, January 25, 2008, at the home of her daughter. Beulah was born on July 31, 1915, in Concord, Morgan County, Illinois, the daughter of James A. and Lillie Layel Miller. She was reared and educated in the Concord Schools and received an associates degree. Beulah first married Harold K. Cox, Sr. in 1934 in Morgan Co. She later married Charles McDonald in Morgan Co. Beulah worked at war time factories in both Jacksonville, Illinois and Middletown, Iowa. While in Oquawka she worked at a Shelter Care that was a home for elderly women with special needs retiring in 1980. She enjoyed crossword puzzle, reading, canning and making jellies. She was a caring person and enjoyed taking food to her neighbors. She is survived by two daughters, Mary and Joe Schlichte of LaSalle, and Sandra K. and Thurman Carpenter of Dayton, Ohio, two sons Harold K. and Janis Cox, Jr. of Rushville, Illinois and Ronald K. and Sue Cox of Springfield, Illinois, two grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and one sister Ruby Fordyce of Washington, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her husbands, one granddaughter, three sisters and one brother and a long time companion John Dughman Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Interment will be in the Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois. Her family will receive friends at Turnbull's from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday
