Bonny Sue McNaught, 83, of Galesburg, IL, passed away at 4:58 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Bonny was born June 2, 1942, in Truro Township, Williamsfield, IL, the daughter or Alvah S. and Laura Jean (Leng) McNaught. She married DeWayne Ziegler on February 7, 1959, in Victoria, Illinois. Together they had three children. She later married Paul Engelmeyer of Keokuk, IA, on August 25, 1984, married for 32 years and later divorced.
Survivors include her children, Troy (Cathy) Ziegler of Rio, and Sally Ziegler of Galesburg; grandchildren, Chad (Laci) Ziegler of Maroa, IL, Kassi Ziegler of Fithian, IL, Megan Gillenwater of Rock Island, IL, Cory Gillenwater of Keokuk, IA, and Lucas Ziegler of Rio, IL; siblings Dolores McNaught of Geneseo, Jim (Ruth Ann) McNaught of Victoria, Mary Jane Lafollette of Williamsfield, twin-sister Betty McNaught of Monmouth, and Margie McNaught of Elmwood. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her son Lonny Ziegler, her brother Dale McNaught and sister and brother-in-law Nancy & Bill Fuller.
Bonny attended Williamsfield schools. While enjoying raising their children, she also became a licensed Beautician. Later in life, she found her love of making crafts, working at the Christmas Goose and traveling to participate in various craft shows. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society in Keokuk, IA.
Bonny loved her family immensely and was always known to be the life of a party. She loved her times on the dance floor and especially listening to Elvis. Living on the river blossomed her art for gardening and crafting. She was always up for playing board games and cards with her family, friends and grandchildren. Playing Dominos at Seminary Estates with new friends became one of her favorite times.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
