Brenda L Young

Brenda L. Young, age 50, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 12:32 am on February 7, 2013 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Brenda was born on March 26, 1962 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Arnold and Phyllis Swan Daniel. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended public schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1980. She was employed at Western Illinois Home Health Care of Monmouth for thirty years. She first was married to Chris Kidd in 1980. She later married Ernie Young and he passed away on March 24, 2010. Surviving her are her special friend Jake Shughart of Monmouth, her daughter Jennifer Young of Omaha, Nebraska, and her son Justin Kidd also of Monmouth, Illinois. There are ten grandchildren, Deondra, Jordan, Xavier, Alexis, Breanne, Alesia, Kaleb, Justice, Justine, and Biancia. Four sisters survive, Marsha (James) Coleman, Barb Hopkins, Sue (Richard) Swift, and Sandy (Paul) Hamilton. Two brothers survive, Bill (Sandy) Daniel and Steve (Tracy) Daniel. She is preceded in her death by her husband, Ernie, and her infant grandson Justin Kidd, Jr. Services:Cremation is being accorded. A gathering of her family and friends will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Sunday February 10, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. No other viewing or services are planned.
