Carol "Charlene" Baldwin

Charlene Baldwin, age 72, of Biggsville, passed away at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Oak Lane Nursing Rehab in Stronghurst, Ill. She was born on November 1, 1939 in Burlington, Ia. and is the daughter of Charles Carlton and Hazel Maxcine Hickman Baldwin. She was reared and educated in Henderson County and graduated from Biggsville High School. Charlene then attended Monmouth College and graduated from there in 1961. Charlene worked for 12 years for Dr.'s Miller Deischer in Kirkwood, Ill.. She then worked in the health care field for various agencies and nursing homes. Also Charlene worked for APEC in Burlington, Ia. for a time. She was a member of the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church, volunteered for the American Heart and Cancer Societies, was always interested in local activities, and she was an avid bowler. Charlene is survived by her cousins, many good friends, and the caring staff at Oak Lane Nursing Rehab. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church in Biggsville, Ill. Interment will be in Biggsville Township Cemetery. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the church. A memorial fund has been established for the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church or the Oak Lane Nursing Rehab in Stronghurst.
