Carol A. Champ

Carol A.Champ, age 72, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 5:36 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Carol was born on February 5, 1945 in Canton, Illinois and is the daughter of Oscar and Minnie Jane Smith Spirs. She was raised and educated in Canton where she attended local schools and graduated from Canton High School in 1963. Carol married Edward "Ed" Champ on April 22, 1975 in Pekin, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2017 of this year. Carol was a homemaker in her own home and raised her family which was her greatest interest. She enjoyed arts and crafts, going to play bingo, and doing crossword puzzles. She and Ed very much enjoyed socializing at McDonalds regularly. She is survived by two daughters, Juanita (James) Barron of Monmouth, IL and Teresa in Canton, Illinois. One son, Raymond (Lisa) Heine of Dumont, Iowa, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren are surviving. Carol's sister, Sandy (Ed) Ginger of Lewiston, IL also is surviving. Visitation Her family plans visitation and will receive their friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the memorial service. Memorial Service A memorial service is planned at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL on Thursday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00am. Cremation has been accorded.
