Carol J. Conard

Carol Jeanette Conard, age 86, of Cameron, Illinois; passed away at the Roseville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Roseville, Illinois on May 13, 2010 at 11:22 am. She was born on September 9, 1923 in Cameron, Ill. the daughter of Harold and Rose Dollinger Youngquist. She attended Galesburg public schools. Carol married K. Wayne Conard on January 7, 1943 in Cameron, he preceded her in death on November 5, 2009. Carol worked as a school cook and janitor for a time. She then served as the Church Secretary at Cameron Christian Church for 30 years. Carol had a love for horses that she shared with her husband and square dancing. She was a life long member of the Cameron Christian Church and an election judge for Floyd Township for many years. Carol loved her flower gardens, bird watching, and her St. Louis Cardinals. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and the many friends she made over the years. Surviving Carol is one son, David Conard of Monmouth, one daughter, Diane Conard (Kenny Shepler) of Roseville, one granddaughter Abby Conard of Monmouth, and one brother Ronnie Youngquist of Cameron. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding her in death is her parents, husband Wayne Conard, and one sister Joanne Curtis. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Cameron Christian Church in Cameron. Interment will be in Silent Home Cemetery in Cameron. Friends may call and hour prior to the service at the Church where her family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund is being established.
