Charles W. Hendrickson

Charles W. Hendrickson, age 78, of Biggsville, Ill., passed away at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Oaklane Nursing Home and Rehab in Stonghurst, Ill.. He was born on July 17, 1932 in rural Biggsville, he is the son of Walter and Sarah White Hendrickson. Charles was reared and educated in Biggsville, and graduated from Biggsville High School. He married Nancy Morris on October 4, 1952 in Biggsville, she preceded him in death on February 28, 2011. Charles drove a semi for Seth Oaks hauling livestock, and he also drove for Goff Trucking in Biggsville for a number of years. Charles also worked at Crop Production Service in Biggsville. He was a member of the Biggsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Biggsville United Methodist Church. Charles enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Charles is survived by his children; Charles W. Hendrickson, Jr., of Iowa City, Ia., Michael L. Hendrickson of Biggsville, Robert G. Hendrickson (Lori) of Biggsville, and Sue A. Hendrickson of Biggsville. Also surviving are five grandsons and five great grandchildren, and one sister Carolyn Simpson of Monmouth, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Biggsville United Methodist Church in Biggsville, Ill. His family will be present and hour prior to the service at the church to receive friends. Interment will be in Biggsville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Oak lane Nursing and Rehab.
