Charles J. "Jimmy" Tatman, age 56, of Hendersonville, Tenn., formerly of Monmouth, passed away on February 11, 2012 in Hendersonville, Tenn.. He was born on October 15, 1955 in Monmouth, and was the son of Howard "Shorty" and Mary Elizabeth Rixie Tatman. He was reared and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1973. Jimmy then earned his Associates Degree from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill. He served his country for a time in the United States Navy for 4 years. Jimmy first married Cynthia White on September 21, 1985 in Abingdon, Ill., he later married Janice Starkey Gibbs in 2011, she survives. Jimmy worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad in the B & B Department and also at Agar Wilson Foods in Monmouth. He enjoyed bow hunting, and fishing on the Mississippi. Jimmy is survived by his wife Janice Starkey Tatman of Hendersonville, Tenn., mother Mary Redding of Keithsburg, Ill., one son Colton James Tatman of Abingdon, Ill., two step daughters; Amy Dishman of Tenn., Jennifer Koch of Wi., one sister Nelma Jean Almaguer of Monmouth, two step brothers; Ron and Dennis Redding of South Carolina, and one step sister; Teresa Childress of Fl.. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Dorie and Jackie Dishman and Claire and Taylor Koch. He was preceded in death by his father, Shorty Tatman, step father Dean Redding, brother-in-law Bob Almaguer, and numerous aunts and uncles. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home to greet his family. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
