Charles F. Tracy, age 83, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 7:50 pm on December 30, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Chuck was born March 27, 1929 in Stronghurst, Illinois and is the son of William S. and Millie A. Magee Tracy. Chuck was reared and educated in Stronghurst where he attended local schools. He married Maxine T. Gerdom on April 16, 1949 in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 18, 1993. Charles has had many jobs to include appliance repair for Bergs T.V. and Appliance, Hines and McClintock, for Gambles retail store and at O.T. Johnsons all in Galesburg, Illinois Charles in later years has been self employed operating Tracy Appliance Service in Galesburg, Illinois. Chuck was a member of and served as President of the Oquawka Senior Center eight years and loved the game of pitch. He is a longtime member of the Oquawka Eagles Club and loved to call bingo at the club. Chuck loved old time country music, dancing, playing pool, and never knew a stranger. Chuck is survived by three daughters, Connie (Bill) Day of Galesburg, Illinois; Linda (Bill) Simpson of Oquawka, Illinois and Carolyn Bigger of Gladstone, Illinois. There are eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren surviving. Also several nieces and nephews are surviving. He is preceded in his death by his wife, parents, four brothers, five sisters, one grandson, and one great grandson. Services:A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday January 4, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. His family plans visitation on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:00 pm with the family present. Interment will be in Carman Cemetery in Carman, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established by his family.
