Charlotte L. Druin, age 75, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 10:45 A.M. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on January 27, 1942, the daughter of Virgil Lee and Maxine T. (Gerdom) Tracy in Burlington, Iowa. Charlotte attended school in Burlington and later G&O High School. On January 13, 1962, she married Richard L. "Dick" Druin and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2002. Over the years, Charlotte worked at Admiral's in Galesburg, O.T. Johnson's in Galesburg, Kline's Care Center in Burlington, and The Village Hub in Oquawka, where she made her wonderful pies. Charlotte was a member of the Monmouth American Legion Post Auxiliary. She very much enjoyed old country music, watching Saturday night polka on television, playing cards, and throwing darts with her family. Charlotte loved her Huskies, cooking and baking. She will be remembered by her family as a person who "told it like it was" and as a kind and loving person. Charlotte is survived by one son, Paul (Connie) Druin of Oquawka, IL, four grandchildren; Daniel, Cody, Jessie, and Lexi, three great-grandchildren; Owen, Sophia, Evelyn, and two sisters; Carolyn Bigger of Gladstone, IL and Connie (Bill) Day of Monmouth, IL. A number of other relatives are also surviving. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father Charles F. Tracy, son Tracy, sister Linda Simpson, and her mother-in-law Margaret Druin. Visitation Her family plans visitation from 9:00-10:30 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral Service A funeral service is planned for 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Carman Cemetery. A memorial is being established for her family.
