Cheryl D. Hunt, age 61, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, IL on March 31, 2014 at 2:35 am. Cheryl was born on July 23, 1952 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of Lawrence H. and Gladys F.Mitchell Shinn. Cheryl was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1971. She married Richard A. Hunt on May 20, 1978 in Monmouth, Illinois and he is surviving. Cheryl first worked at Glastex boat factory in Monmouth for a time and then was employed in housekeeping at Pinewood Nursing Home in Monmouth. When her son was born Cheryl became a full time mother to her family. She enjoyed local Bingo very much ! She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Hunt of Monmouth, IL and one son, Richard L. "Ricky" Hunt of Monmouth, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents, and two brothers, Lawrence "Jr." Shinn, and Jim Shinn. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday April 3, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinis. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. Her family plans visitation with the family present from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service in Thursday. A memorial fund is established for the diabetes foundation.
