Chris L. Painter

Chris L. Painter, age 53, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at his Monmouth residence on May 8, 2008 at 12:20 pm. Chris was born on October 27, 1954 in Monmouth, and is the son of Eugene M."Connie" and Betty Louise Frazee Painter. Chris was raised in Monmouth where he attended Monmouth Schools and Graduated from Monmouth High School. He also attended several years at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Chris first was employed by the City of Monmouth in the Water Department for a time. He then went to work for the BNSF Railroad as a journeyman and machinist and did so for thirty-two years to the present. Chris is an avid Chicago Bears Fan. He enjoyed golf and working around his home and in the yard. He also enjoyed the guitar and the blues. Chris most of all loved his children and grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters; Melissa Painter of Galesburg, Illinois and Jenny Painter and her Fiance' Matt Willett of Kirkwood, Illinois. Two Grandchildren survive, Ryne & Reanne Willett. Two Sisters; Cindy Kalin & Kip of Monmouth, and Kim Kellar & John of Arvada, Colorado. One Brother; Steve Painter & Patti in Hot Springs, Arkansas and his Half Sister; Sheryl Painter in Arizona. Preceding Chris in death are his Maternal Grandparents. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday May 12, 2008 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, with interment to follow at Monmouth Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday after NOON at Turnbull Funeral Home where his family will be present to receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A memorial fund is being established for Western Illinois Animal Rescue
