Christina A Cooley

Christina A. “Chrissy” Cooley, 46, of Galesburg, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2026, in her home. She was born November 11, 1979, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Ginger (Milroy) and John Cooley. She was raised and educated in the Galesburg and Knoxville areas, graduating from Knoxville High School.

Those left to cherish her memory are Jason Guerin whom she shared a special relationship with for 30 years; her mother, Ginger Milroy (Paul) Mathews; step-mother, Sandra Cooley; her children, Seth Cooley, Caitlin (Brent Rinehart) Guerin, Makenna (Cashton Hillery) Guerin; grandchildren, Rhett Cooley, Bennet Rinehart and a 3rd on the way; siblings, Lisa (Marcus) River Coast, Jeff (Courtney) Milroy, Aubrey Cooley. Several nieces, nephews and in-laws also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Cooley and one sister.

Chrissy worked for both Wonder Bread and Hi-Lo Grocery Store in Galesburg for many years.

Chrissy enjoyed decorating her home, caring for her dog “Snots” and her morning phone calls with her family. She will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to everyone she loved. She had the biggest heart and was the best mother.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a Memorial Service to be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2026, at the funeral home. A Celebration of Chrissy’s life will follow in the Thomas Legacy Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.
