Christine Z. Mcwilliams

Christine Z. McWilliams, 83, of Monmouth, Ill., passed away at 8:42 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at her residence. Christine was born on January 21, 1926, in Monmouth the daughter of Leo and Lora Allen Gibson. She was raised in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School. Christine married Robert McWilliams in 1962. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1968. Christine was first employed at Western Stoneware in Monmouth and then Galesburg Research Hospital as a Mental health Technician. She retired when the Hospital closed. She enjoyed quilting and visiting with friends and family. She was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she served as treasurer. Christine is a member of First Christian Church in Monmouth where she a member of the Lamplighters Class and volunteered in ministries. Christine was a member of the OSF Holy Family Auxiliary. She enjoyed water exercise at the YMCA and flowers and yard work. Christine is survived by her daughter Louise Coleman (Melvin) of South San Francisco, California, one grandson Christopher Coleman of San Francisco, two sisters Jean Duffy and Mary Ella Andrews (Stu) both of Galesburg. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Christine is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the First Christian Church in Monmouth. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. Christine's family will receive friends from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the Church. A memorial fund is being established for the First Christian Church.
