Clara Anna Miner

Clara A. Miner, age 77, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 4:40 pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2015 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth. She was born on January 17, 1938 in Andalusia, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer C. and Minnie Anna (Freiburg) Guldenpfennig. She attended school in Andalusia. On June 29, 1957, Clara married Russell D. Miner, Sr. in Andalusia and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2013. Clara worked at Glastex in Monmouth, the Monmouth Pottery, the Twomey Company, and Monmouth Nursing Home. She attended the Countryside Bible Church. She loved to garden and can vegetables for her family. Clara very much enjoyed spending time with her family and going to Church. Her family remembers her as a hard working and stubborn woman. Clara is survived by two daughters; Cheryl (Steve) Miner of Aledo, IL and Laurie (late David) Denning or Portland, TN, three sons; Ben (Tammy) Miner of Kalispell, MT, Russell (Lori) Miner of Monmouth, IL, and Will (Patty) Miner of Oquawka, IL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Clara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell Sr., son Virgil, son-in-law David, and brother, John. Services:A funeral service for Clara Miner is planned for 10:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family will be present to receive friends from 9:00-10:00 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established and will be designated at a later date.
