Cora Lee Miller

Cora Lee Miller, age 84, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, on January 18, 2011 at 3:10 am. Cora Lee was born August 30, 1926 in Quincy, Illinois and is the daughter of Lloyd and Frances Miller Van Natta. She was raised and educated in the Quincy area and it's schools where she attended Quincy High School. She was married to Donald Wayne Miller on March 11, 1944 in Edina, Missouri. He preceded her on June 29, 1986. Cora Lee first worked for the telephone company as operator in La Belle, Missouri. After marriage she assisted her husband in the farm operations for many years. She is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Oquawka Eagles Aerie #3629. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, sewing, bingo, and going shopping. She is survived by five daughters Sharon Woerl in Arizona, Julie (Paul) McGee of Magnolia, Mississippi, Pam (Jason) Wonders of Lockridge, Iowa, Jody (Sam) Newton of Oquawka, Illinois, and Lisa (Ed) Smith of Farmington, Iowa. Also eight sons survive Johnny (Missy) Miller of Richmond, Missouri, Dave (Diane) Miller of Oquawka, Illinois, Jimmy (Judy) Miller of Port Byron, Illinois, Bruce (Marcia) Miller of Oquawka, Illinois, Bill (Carla) Miller of Atlanta, Georgia, Mike (Kelley) Miller of Muscatine, Iowa, Danny (Kathy) Miller of Reynolds, Illinois, and Joe (Ellen) Johnson of Shelby, North Carolina. One brother survives Numa (Linda) Van Natta of Avon, IL Services:A funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday January 22, 2011 at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Belmont Cemetery in Northern Henderson County. Her family plans to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm visitation. A memorial fund is being established by her family.
