Darrell S. Ford

Darrell S. Ford, age 76, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 1:45 am on September 9, 2015 at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab in Roseville, Illinois. Darrell was born on May 10, 1939 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Harry Clifford and Dorothy Mae Peoples Ford. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1957. He then attended Monmouth College. Darrell served his country serving as Sargent in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam. Darrell was employed at Outboard Marine Corporation of Galesburg, IL for his career and worked there fifteen years. He also was a loyal Fan of Chicago Bears Football. Darrell is survived by two sisters, Constance L. Sangster of Lexington, Kentucky and Marcia L. (Louis) Perteet of Long Beach, California. A number of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews all are surviving. Darrell is preceded in his death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Norman Ford. Services:A graveside Military service is planned for Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 10:00 am at Monmouth Cemetery Veteran's Lot. His family plans visitation at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth receiving their friends from 9:00 to 10:00 am prior to the service. A memorial fund is being established by his family and may be left at the funeral home or the cemetery.
