David W. "Dave" Baker, age 67, of rural Monmouth, Illinois; passed away suddenly at his residence at 4:10 pm on September 24, 2018. Dave was born on June 11, 1951 in Fairmont, Minnesota and is the son of Fred and Irene Melby Baker. He was raised and attended school in Huntley, Minnesota. He was married to Kimberly D. Hatfield Troyer on August 6, 2004 in Brandon, South Dakota. Dave loved to work outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved to do yard work and keep up the outdoors. While in Minnesota, he was a terra gator in crop production in East Chain, Minnesota. David is survived by his wife, Kimberly of rural Monmouth, his son, Kyle Wirkus of Elmore, Minnesota; his daughter Nicole (Scott) Ellsworth of Lakota, Iowa, his step sons, Brandon (Amanda) Troyer of Monmouth, Illinois and Jason Troyer in the state of Kansas. There are numerous grandchildren also surviving. Dave has one sister, Betty (Gene) Lehman who survives in Fairmont, Minnesota and three brothers, Jerry (Darlene) Baker in Mankato, Minnesota, Jim (Bonnie) Baker and Kenny Baker both of Fairmont, Minnesota. He is preceded in his death by his parents, one sister Marvel, and his sister in law, Mary. Cremation rites are being accorded locally and funeral and interment are to be in Minnesota at a later date.
