David L. Horaney

David Louis Horaney, 67, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at home, Thursday, July 10, 2025.

David was born January 4, 1958 in Galesburg, the son of William Robert and Mildred Irene (Kemmer) Horaney, Sr. David is survived by one brother, William R. Horaney, Jr. of Galesburg; two nephews, Keith (Vicki) Legge of Galesburg and their children, Drake Legge and Kelsi (Chad) Thompson and Ryan Donaldson of Davenport, Iowa and his children, Sydney Donaldson and Alexa Donaldson; a cousin, Jeff Horton of Galesburg; and his brother-in-law, Michael Donaldson of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy Donaldson.

David worked for many years at Giant Foods in Galesburg. He went on to spend the rest of his working years at G&M Distributors, before retiring in 2021. David was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and spent many hours golfing in his younger years. To David, family and friends were of the utmost importance. He was a loyal friend to many and had numerous lifelong friendships.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life for David and his sister Judy will be held 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, Illinois.
