David B. Hurt

David B. Hurt, age 36, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 10:50 am on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Chicago University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He was born on September 5, 1979 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Gale E. and Nina M. (Slover) Hurt. David attended schools in Oquawka and graduated from Union High School with the Class of 1997. He also attended Southeastern Community College for a year. David began his employment constructing sheet metal buildings. He later worked with underground boring and working outdoors. David enjoyed all types of music and karaoke. He loved spending time with his friends and freely gave of his time and energy when needed. David is survived by his parents, Gale and Nina Hurt of Oquawka, IL, and one brother, Keith (Joann) Hurt of Oquawka, IL. and his beloved dog, Kenya. He is preceded in death by his grandparents. Visitation His family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral Service A funeral service is planned for 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, IL. Interment will follow the service in the Oquawka Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established and will be published at a later date.
