Deanna F. Hughes-Thornton

Deanna Hughes-Thornton, age 50, of Monmouth, passed away at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at her residence in Monmouth. She was born on July 18, 1959 in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Harlen F. and Dolores F.Hilbert LeClere. She was raised and educated in Iowa and graduated from Carl Sandburg Junior College in the Registered Nursing Program. Deanna married Mark Thornton on April 7, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Deanna was a Registered Nurse and was employed at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Ill. for 16 years. She also was employed as a RN at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Deanna's love were her family and friends. Her passion was nursing, it was what she truly missed during her last year of illness. She also enjoyed canoeing. And all love to "Dee's Bee's." Deanna is survived by her husband Mark Thornton of Monmouth, one daughter Charity Setser and Steve of Monmouth, one son Corey Hughes and Trisha Hillier of Galesburg, her father Harlen LeClere of Monmouth, her mother-in-law, Marge Thornton of Monmouth, one sister Kimberly Lowell and Roger of Guttenberg, Iowa, and one brother Paul LeClere and YoungMi of Augusta, Wisconsin. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Kassi, Elizabeth, Harley, Andrew, Trevor and Autumn. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive. Deanna is preceded in death by her mother Dolores LeClere and her father-in-law Ollie Thornton. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Deanna's family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
