Delores M Gerst

Delores M. Gerst, age 86, of Roseville, Illinois and formerly of Gladstone, IL passed away at 9:58 am at OSF Holy Family Medical Center on July 5th, 2013. Delores was born May 21, 1927 in Burlington, Iowa and is the daughter of William M and Eva Jane Cable Stewart. She was raised in Burlington, where she attended public schools and Horace Mann Junior High School. She was first married to James F. Boone. She later married Otto J. Gerst on January 19, 1952 in Burlington, Iowa. and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2001. Delores was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Monmouth, Illinois. While living in Gladstone, she cared for a large Dairy Goat Herd operating "Shady Glenn Dairy Goats" She was a vary spiritual person and was an avid organic gardener. Surviving are six daughters, Anita Gilley of Gladstone, Illinois, Jamelle Weseman of Pensacola, Florida, Krystal Bouchez (Bill) of Oquawka, Illinois, Shirley Litwiler of Monmouth, Illinois and Dawn Gerst of Oquawka, Illinois. One son survives, Otto J. Gerst, Jr. of Gladstone, Illinois. There are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren surviving. Preceding Delores in her death are her parents, husband, one son, Marsten, one daughter, Katherine, and ten brothers and sisters. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday July 12, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday until the hour of service. No family visitation hour is planned. Interment will be in Kossuth Cemetery in Mediapolis, Iowa. A memorial fund is being established for the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
