Deloris E. "Dee Dee" (Adair) Haynes

Deloris E. " Dee Dee " Haynes, age 92, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at Great River Hospice House in Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 10:17 pm. Deloris was born on August 17, 1932 in Biggsville, Illinois and is the daughter of Chester Paul and Elsie M. Dobbs Adair. She was raised in Biggsville, where she attended local schools and graduated from Biggsville High School in the class of 1950. In August of 1958, Dee Dee married Authel B. Haynes in Davenport, Iowa and he preceded her in his death on July 13, 2004. Dee Dee began work for the Bell Telephone Company and worked as an operator for a number years in Little York, Burlington, and Davenport, Iowa. She loved everybody she met and would help anybody in need in and around Oquawka. She took in may kids in her home and most of all loved her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie M. Berry and Mike of Lillian, Texas and Linda Sue Egley-Reynolds of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and her son, Steven P. Haynes and Heather of Stronghurst, Illinois. There are eleven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren surviving. Her special friends survive, Diane and Rainy Fenton of Burlington, Iowa and Maude Meyers and Caroline Link, both of Oquawka, Illinois. Dee Dee is preceded in her death by her parents, husband Authel Bond Haynes, son Authel Lee Haynes, two brothers and one sister.

A graveside funeral service is planned on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Biggsville Township Cemetery in Biggsville, Illinois at 11:00 am. Her family plans visitation at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois on Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 prior to the graveside service. A memorial fund is being established for Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, IL. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is in charge of her local arrangements.
