Deloris "Dee Dee" Melburg

Deloris H. "Dee Dee" Sunquist Melburg, age 70, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at her residence on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 9:05 am. "Dee Dee" was born on February 26, 1949 in Salina, Kansas and is the daughter of Harry and Alma Witt Sunquist. She was raised in Lindsburg, Kansas where she attended local schools and graduated from High School. She then attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida where she attained her training to be a registered nurse. Dee Dee was a homemaker and a registered nurse and first worked for VNA Home Healthcare in Orlando, Florida for a time. Dee Dee married Charles D. "Chuck" Melburg on December 31, 1999 in Oquawka, Illinois and he is surviving.   She later worked from 1998 to her retirement in 2010 at the Oquawka Clinic as a registered nurse. She loved to garden, sew and quilt, reading, and loved to take care of her cats.

A memorial service at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is being planned at 12:00 noon on Thursday January 30, 2020. Cremation has been accorded. Her family plans a visitation and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 am to Noon prior to the funeral. A memorial fund is being established for the Oquawka Toy Drive.
