Diana L. Johnson

Diana L. Johnson, age 52, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 9:40 a.m. She was born on January 20, 1956 in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of James L. and Melva Pullen Sells. She was raised and educated in Oquawka, attending Oquawka Grade School, graduating from Union High School. She married Billy J. Johnson on June 2, 1973 in Oquawka. He survives. In high school Diana was involved in band and choir. Diana was a homemaker and stayed home with her children until they started school. Diana was a waitress at The Diner, Crazy Mary's Pizza and the Eagles Club all in Oquawka. She was a member of the Oquawka Eagles Club. Her most recent employment was with West Central School as a cook. Diana enjoyed vacationing in the Ozark's, going to Riverside Casino and playing bingo. Most of all she enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Billy J. Johnson of Oquawka, daughter Heather (Joe) DeFord of Oquawka, son Jared (Judy) Johnson, of Iowa City, Iowa, grandsons Nathanial DeFord of Oquawka and Landon Johnson of Iowa City, father James Sells of Oquawka, sisters Shelley (K.C.) Carlson of Monmouth, Illinois, Brenda (George) Olson of Oquawka, one brother Richard (Ethel) Sells of Oquawka, aunts Bonnie (Wayne) Fox of Oquawka, Joyce Pullen of Oquawka. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Paternal and Maternal grandparents, Uncle Jess Pullen, and many other aunts, and uncles. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Diana's family will be present to receive friends at Turnbull's on Saturday from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. A memorial fund is being established.
