Dolores E Hackett

Dolores E. Hackett, age 94, of Peoria, Illinois; passed away on September 15, 2012 at OSF St.Claire Home in Peoria, Illinois at 11:55 pm. She was born on May 13, 1918 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Arthur and Ethel Mackey Melburg. Dolores was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School and the class of 1936. She married Bernard G. Hackett on November 23, 1939 in Peoria, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 10,1992. During the World War II, Dolores served in the American Red Cross. Dolores then, was employed at Hiram Walker in Peoria, Illinois for a number of years and later was employed by Rafool Insurance Company in Peoria as well. She enjoyed golf and was a member of Willow Knolls Country Club and it's Willow Knolls Ladies Golf League. She also is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria, and a member of the Oquawka Eagles Aerie Auxillary. Dolores is survived by her son Rob Hackett (Jayme) of Peoria, IL and her granddaughter, Sarah McDonald (Jesse) and her grandson, Rob Hackett II (Lisa) both of Peoria, IL. She has six great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, two brothers Chuck and Leonard Melburg and one sister, Betty Jern. Services:A Private funeral service is planned at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment is to be in the Oquawka Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is established for Concordia Lutheran School in Peoria, Illinois.
