Donald E. "Butch" Millard

Donald E. "Butch" Millard, age 77, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on May 3, 1941 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Emmitt and Maude (Grate) Millard. Butch attended G&O High School. He proudly served his Country with the United States Air Force, where he was an Airman 1st Class with a B-52 Squadron. Don was married to Carol A. Forman, and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2018. He was previously married to Yolanda Millard. Butch worked at Gale Products in Galesburg, Illinois until its closing. He then worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition plant in Middletown, Iowa until his retirement. Butch enjoyed hunting in his younger days and later fishing with Carol. Together, they enjoyed traveling to different fishing locations all over the Country. Butch is survived by two daughters; Barbara Millard and Christine Millard, both of Oquawka, IL, three sons; Donald Millard II of Oquawka, IL, Timothy Millard of Galesburg, IL, and Gary (Christa) Millard of Oquawka, IL, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, and five brothers and sisters. A graveside service with Military Honors is planned for 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Oquawka Cemetery in Oquawka, Illinois. A memorial is being established for the J. W. Clendenin Post #2301 V.F.W./Marion B. Fletcher Post #136 American Legion Joint Honor Guard.
