Donald D. Hart

Donald D. Hart, age 82, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 6:14 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Monmouth Nursing Home. He was born December 31, 1938 in Laura, Illinois, the son of Wayne Peter and Beulah Mae (Reimolds) Hart. Don attended schools in Cameron and Dallas City. He proudly served our Country in the United States Navy. On February 18, 1966, Don married Gertrude "Gert" Decker at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Don was employed at Wilson Food's for over twenty years. He was also the Shop Forman at the City Garage in Monmouth for many years. Don enjoyed riding Harley's, race cars and racing, hunting, fishing, catfish and radishes. He was a proud veteran and supported the POW/MIA organizations. Mostly, Don loved his children, grandchildren, and being with his family.

Don is survived by his wife Gert of Monmouth, Illinois, three sons, Dan Hart of Galesburg, Illinois, Eric (Judy) Hart of Roseville, Illinois, and Tyson (Kristin Rowley) Hart of Oquawka, Illinois, grandchildren, Rebecca Hart, Lauren Hart, Christi Hart, Sydney Hart, and Ben Hart, and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Janice (Jerry) Ryder and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Donald Hart, Jr. three brothers, Merlyn, Bernard, and Kenny Hart, and one sister Carolyn Thomas.

As were Don's wishes, cremation is being accorded. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or the Warren County Relay for Life.
