Donald E. Watson

Donald Eugene Watson, age 72, of Greencastle, Indiana, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Don was born on March 30, 1941 in Monmouth, the son of Robert I. and Pauline (Strange) Watson. He was educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School with the "Class of 1959". Don married Lou Watson on January 8, 1966 and just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. Don worked in the produce department of Kroger's and Eagles Grocery Stores locally for over 35 years. He had been a custodian at the Creencastle School Corporation for 9 years. He was a member of the New Hope Fellowship Church in Greencastle and formerly of the New Life Foursquare Church here in Monmouth. Don is survived by his wife Lou; sons, Rev. Donnie (Jolene) Watson and Dan (LeAnn) Watson; a brother, Robert Watson; sisters, Georgia Madson and Carolyn Hillman; grandchildren Brandon (Jessica) Watson, Kyle (Nicole) Watson, Amanda (Joe) Downing, Brittany and Amy Watson; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Emma Grace Watson and Brylynn and Gavin Watson; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Wayne D. Hillman; and a niece, Debra Watson. Services:A funeral service is planned at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the New Life Foursquare Church in Monmouth. Don's family will receive friends at the Church from 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established for New Hope Fellowship Church in Newcastle.
