Donna Bicknell

Donna Louise Bicknell, 78, of Galesburg, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born April 23, 1947 in Abingdon, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Lester and Marion Rogene (Calhoun) Forshee.

Over the years she’s worked at The Huddle, Jumer’s, and lastly Hy-Vee before retiring. Donna married Robert Gilbert Bicknell on April 23, 1967 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2016.

Left to cherish her memory is one son, Dean Bicknell (Angel Bicknell) of Galesburg; and one daughter, Tammy Bicknell of Peoria, Illinois. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Elizabeth, Patricia, Surell, Michael, Johny, Joseph, Justin, and Janelle; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and one brother, Lester Eldon Forshee of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Bob Bicknell; and four siblings: George, Sandra, Eloise May, and Diane.

She found great delight in playing bingo; however, she did have a passion for gaming that extended beyond bingo. Donna enjoyed visiting casinos and riverboats where she reveled in the thrill of chance. She also liked playing cards. Donna loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be announced soon.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
