Donna D. Bogert, age 92, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Extended Care, OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Donna was born on May 30, 1915, in Phelps, Illinois; the daughter of Vincent and Marian Sprout. She was reared in Cameron, Illinois and attended country schools and Monmouth High School. She received her nurses training at Monmouth Hospital specializing in O.B. Donna married Ernest J. Bogert April 1948 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Donna was a registered nurse first working at Cook County Hospital from 1936 - 1940, then Wesley Hospital 1940-1941 and then Monmouth Hospital 1941-1942. She then went back to Chicago's Lying IN Hospital from 1942 to 1979. Lastly, she worked at Community Memorial Hospital from 1979 - 1986 and her retirement. Donna was a member of Fairview Center United Methodist Church and a member of it's Missionary Society. After her retirement, Donna volunteered with the Bloodmobile, the Cameron Christian Care Center, and at Starting Point. Donna is survived her sister Florence A. Baker of Winchester, Pennsylvania and by a special friend, Erma Morrison of Monmouth. Also survivng are several neices and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Timothy Bogert. and two brothers Orrin Sprout, Burnill Sprout, and one sister, Marion Peterson. Services:A funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. An interment service will be at 1:00p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery in Worth, Illinois. Memorials can be made to either the Extended Care at OSF Holy Family Medical Center or Community Hospices of America. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
