Donna J. Collinson

Donna Jean Collinson, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Donna was born to William R. Musser and Leola C. Newton Musser. She lived her entire life in the area. Donna married Otis A. Bowling in 1945 after waiting for him to return from his service in World War II. A son, Alan C. Bowling was born in 1947. In 1994, Otis passed away and she married Dale Collinson in 1998. They made there home in Galva, Illinois where Dale had a business and a farm. Dale passed away in 2011. Donna worked as a teller in various banks in the area and as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service. She had an interest in the genealogy of her family; preserving the families history on paper and also in the many photo albums she completed. Her family will cherish these forever. Donna could recite the birth and death dates of many relatives from memory. She leaves a son Alan (Ann) of Columbia, Missouri, three grandchildren, Chris (Val) of Columbia, Missouri, Traci Truesdale of Chicago, Illinois, and Julie (Todd) Hague of Columbia, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren, Arleigh Truesdale and Will Hague. She leaves many step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Otis Bowling, an infant son, her husband Dale Collinson, her parents, a brother Ray Musser, and sister-in-law esther Ann Musser. She will be missed and remembered by many. Services:A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois. Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. At Donna's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
