Donna M. Desmond

Donna M. Desmond, age 59, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at her residence on March 31, 2010 at Noon. Donna was born January 18, 1951 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of Doren E. and Audrey Meyers Simonson. She was raised and educated through the seventh grade in Monmouth, when she moved to Alton, Illinois and then on to Cherry Hill, New Jersey where she graduated from high school. Donna was married to Jon Desmond previously. Donna worked as a bookkeeper and in accounting for as accounting firm in Alexandria, Virginia until she suffered a stroke limiting her abilities. Donna returned to the Monmouth area in 2000. She was previously a member of First Christian Church in Monmouth. Her main interest was in her Nieces, Nephews, and family. She is survived by her sisters, Kaye Dowdy of Columbia, South Carolina; Patty Shepler (Keith) of Monmouth, Illinois; and Sue Mink of Rock Island, Illinois. Her brothers Charles Simonson and Stan Simonson (Kathy) both of Monmouth, Illinois. There are also a number of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, and Great Great Nieces and Nephews. Also surviving is special friend Steve Metzner. She is preceded in death by her Parents and One Niece. Services:A memorial service will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, on Wednesday April 7th, at 10:30 am. Cremation has been accorded. Her family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:30 am prior to the memorial service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue.
