Donna I. Kissick, age 78, of Kirkwood, Ill., passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Ill. Donna was born on October 3, 1930, in Hopper, Ill. the daughter of Edgar and Blanche Young Kissick. Donna attended Monmouth Public Schools. Donna married Loyd Keith Duffie, Sr. in Hiawatha, Kansas on December 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1991. Donna worked at Glastex in Monmouth, Ill. She cooked at different restaurants. She enjoyed making pies and made lots of peanut brittle that she sold at Christmas time. She also made candies and gave them away. She was a member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary in Monmouth, the VFW Auxiliary and the West Fair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Ill. She enjoyed playing bingo and mushrooming. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat. Donna is survived by four daughters, Janice (Earl) Davis of West Burlington, Ia, Joyce (John) Bass of Kirkwood, Jackie (Rick) Olson of Kirkwood, Loyd "Fudd" (Marlene) Duffie, Jr. of Avon, Ill., Loren Richard (Lori) Duffie of Winchester, Ill., Amy Jo (Jeff) Middlebrooks of Monroe, Ga., twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, one great great grandchild. seven sisters and two brothers. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Donna's family will be present to receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Turnbull's. A memorial fund is being established to be designated later. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
